Book Review: The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore

Every 2 weeks or so we’re reviewing books that we found interesting. These books may range from nonfiction to fantasy to informative to escapism. Our hope is that we find something for everyone, and to broaden awareness, access, and information pertaining to sex, sexual health, pleasure, and beyond!

Fall is my favourite time of year, but it can also be sad to leave the fun of summer behind. This cozy romance book based in a happy little town with lovable characters is exactly what I needed to ease myself into the change of season. The Pumpkin Spice Café is not a challenging read, but it was a perfect escape (especially wrapped up in a blanket at home, with some tea and a flickering candle!).

The plot follows Jeanie, who moves to Dream Harbour to take over her aunt’s café. There, she meets the townspeople and starts to settle into the small-town life. She also meets Logan, the local farmer who just wants to stay out of all the small-town gossip… You know where this is going!

If you like Gilmore Girls, Hallmark movies, and cozy new England vibes, then you will love this read! Let us know if you’ve given it a read and what you think!
