Kelowna Opt Clinic is Moving!

Our Kelowna Opt Clinic is moving to a new location!

Starting September 26, 2016, The Kelowna Opt Clinic will be open the same hours, same services, same wonderful staff, in a new location.

Kelowna’s Opt clinic will be open at the Rutland Aurora Health Centre (RAHC) every Monday and Thursday night from 6-9 p.m. The RAHC is located in Rutland at #102-285 Aurora Crescent.

The Kelowna Opt Clinic is a much-needed resource in the community, Opt’s 4th busiest clinic in the province, and the demand is increasing. Last year, the Kelowna Opt Clinic provided 2700 services to over 1500 patients, and increase of over 40% from the previous year. STI testing and treatment alone increased 75%.

Opt offers comprehensive sexual health services, including confidential counselling and provision of birth control, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections testing, and general sexual health information and referrals. The service is provided on appointment and limited walk-in basis and is free with a valid B.C. health care card or at low cost for those who are from out of province or country. Our expert clinic staff welcome all ages, all genders, and all orientations.

The move from the downtown location at 1340 Ellis Street was sparked by the Kelowna Central Health Centre’s upcoming move in to new facilities. Shannon Moore, the Kelowna Opt Clinic’s Main Supervisor, advocated for Opt to move into the RAHC site as it is more accessible to many of Opt’s clients. Opt extends a warm Thank You to our new neighbors who have been very welcoming.

Questions about Opt’s clinical services can be directed to the provincial sexual health information and referral service SEX SENSE 1-800-739-7367. To support the clinic, please visit Opt’s website:

The Kelowna Opt Team looks forward to seeing new and return clients at their new location!
