As a non-profit society registered in British Columbia, OPT is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. The Provincial Board leads the organization toward the achievement of its mission, priorities and organizational outcomes by setting strategic directions for the association and defining broad governing policies.
OPT's board of Directors is comprised of:
- Executive Committee members: President, Vice-Presidents, Treasurer, and Secretary
- Members-At-Large
- Regional Representatives from across BC
Elected at the Annual General Meeting, the Board is made up of a total of 22 members.

OPT branch boards
OPT also has Branch Boards located throughout the province which support local clinic and education operations, and provide key community insight to the Provincial Board of Directors. OPT Provincial and Branch Boards are always seeking new members.
