Qualifications

A graduate of a recognized school of nursing with current CRNBC practicing registered nurse license or a graduate of a sexual health education certification program. Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills. Is able to work days and evenings. Has experience working on the SEX SENSE LINE.

The position of Supervisor for the 1-800-SEX SENSE Line at Options for Sexual Health requires an individual who has some counseling experience, a significant amount of supervisory experience, excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, as well as a background in human sexuality, contraception, reproductive health and communication.

Responsible to:

Director of Education. (In the absence of a Director of Education, the Supervisor is responsible to the Executive Director)

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To be present at the SEX SENSE LINE office during scheduled work hours
  • Primary responsibility is to answer or supervise the answering of incoming phone calls on the 1-800-SEX SENSE Line and answering WontGetWeird emails during scheduled work hours and ensuring that information provided is accurate, non-judgmental, and adheres to the mandate of the organization
  • To monitor trained volunteers in answering calls and providing support and constructive feedback as necessary.
  • To ensure that all calls are tracked for statistical purposes by entering them into the SEX SENSE LINE database call log
  • Ensuring the volunteers enter each of their calls into the volunteer log book
  • Assisting with volunteer and staff training by providing orientation on the SEX SENSE LINE
  • Updating of resources in a logical manner and communicating updates to staff and volunteers
  • Maintaining communications with the SEX SENSE LINE Coordinators and other Supervisors
  • To assist with various office duties or delegated tasks
  • To consistently attend SEX SENSE LINE monthly meetings and in-services
  • Follow the SEX SENSE LINE protocols and procedures as outlined in the SEX SENSE LINE Supervisor manual
  • To keep the Executive Director apprised of how the phone line is operating and any difficulties that may arise
